Does your score get combined with your spouse%26#039;s? Do they average them out? I haven%26#039;t found anybody who seems to know the answer to this.
What happens to your credit score when you get married?
Nothing happens. Each person is responsible for their own credit.
What can effect your credit score is after your married and the two of you would start to finance things together where you are both responsible for repaying the debt. That%26#039;s when your debts become his debts and vice verse. At that time what ever you financed, such as a car loan for example, the car loan would show up on each of your credit report. In addition, the payment history would reflect as well, so if one of you is late making a payment, you%26#039;re both late.
If you are getting divorced that is when your credit score would be considered %26quot;together%26quot; or combined responsibilities. Both parties would be responsible for all open lines of credit at that point, whether good or bad. It would be up to the lawyers to %26quot;divide the assets%26quot; at that point. Once all financial ties have been broken or arrangements have been established who is responsible for what you would then remove your interest in the debt in writing to whatever financial institution your debt was with.Once your divorce is final and everything has been divided that is when your credit score will once again be your own responsibility.
Hope this makes sense and clears up any confusion you may of had.

I don%26#039;t believe they get combined. There have been some new laws that were passed ths year that will make it more difficult for one spouse%26#039;s score to affect the others. I know this isn%26#039;t exactly what you were looking for, hope it helps some tho.
