I am looking to purchase my First home, I have some negatives credit on my credit report, I have paid everything off, but it%26#039;s still on my credit report as %26quot;open%26quot;. I have made several attempts to get these things corrected to no Avail... Please help...

It takes a while for accounts to show closed on your credit report. Just call each of your accounts and request for a letter stating that each account is closed and that you have a zero balance. Then when you apply for a mortgage take the documents with you. Thing is having credit available that has a zero balance is not a bad thing. It is actually better than not having any credit at all. Don%26#039;t worry so much about your negatives--everyone makes mistakes, just be credit card/loan savy from now on. If you have a credit card make sure you only use less than 50% of it at any given time unless it is a real emergeny--we%26#039;re talking medical here, regardless of the credit limit. A 5,000 credit limit card with $500 charged to it looks better than a $500.00 credit card with $500.00 charged to it. Easy concept, huh? Also, try not to rely on credit to make your daily living expenses. Start putting away some cash for your closing costs which will be in a few thousand depending on your loan, type of financing etc. Good luck.

How long ago did you correct the debts? Call the creditor and cancel the accounts. Wait a few months and file an inquiry with the whatever credit report you are viewing.
